Governors Island, 10004 is a photographic installation containing a rack of postcards. I am fascinated how postcards are mass-produced objects that become personalized with the addition of written information. My images depict Governors Island as a strange anomaly in the New York harbor that is quickly shifting into a tourist destination.   I am inspired by the hyper-optimism of traditional postcard imagery, but with a satirical twist. I am drawn to vernacular images shown in tourism and U.S. Military postcards, both used as promotional materials.
